Manuel Hidalgo Trenado is Full Professor at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) since 2018. He has a sexennium of research, accredited by the CNEAI of the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA). Graduated in Political Science and Administration in 1988 at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), Diploma in Political and Constitutional Science from the Centre for Political and Constitutional Studies of Madrid (1994) and PhD in Political Science from the UCM in 1995.
Between April 1995 and March1997, he enjoyed a postdoctoral research contract at Stanford University in the framework of the Doctoral Programme of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Spanish Government. He carried out research stays at the Instituto de Estudios Políticos and the Centro de Estudios del Desarrollo (Universidad Central de Venezuela), the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Administración Pública (IESA, Caracas), and the Centro de Investigaciones de Política Comparada (Universidad de Los Andes), New York University and the University of North Carolina (USA) among others.
Since 1997, he has participated in fourteen research projects (eight of them funded by official national calls). He has published more than 8 articles indexed in journals of the first and second quartile in the JCR index, as well as 8 articles included in Spanish catalogues and fifteen book chapters in collective works of Spanish / Latin American publishers. As general indicators of scientific production, in addition to the articles published in the aforementioned journals, as of December 2020, he had a total of 81 citations in Web of Science, 428 citations in Google Scholar and an H index of 11 in Google Scholar. The average number of citations/year over the last 5 years in Web of Science is 11 and 52 in Google Scholar.
