María del Carmen Rodríguez Rodríguez

Vigo, 1980. Lecturer at the Universidade da Coruña, she has taught at the University of Murcia and at the CES Felipe II (UCM) and is a lecturer-tutor at the UNED. PhD in Sociology from the UCM (Extraordinary Prize), MA in Social Problems from the UNED and BA in Sociology from the UCM (First National Prize for the Completion of University Studies), she has spent time in Paris and at the University of Santiago de Compostela and has enjoyed an FPU scholarship from the Ministry of Education and Science in the Department of Sociology V, in the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology at the Complutense, University of Madrid.
She belongs to the research groups OSIM (Organizaciones sociales, instituciones y mercados) of the UDC, Visual. Investigando la comunicación en España of the URJC and Sociología en Lengua castellana: perspectiva histórica of the UCM.
In 2014-2015, she was a member of the research team of the project “Analysis of the non-use of social media by young people in the Community of Madrid: causes and consequences”, funded by the “Ayudas a la investigación 2014” programme of the Queen Sofia Centre on adolescence and youth, with Fernando Bermejo Acosta (URJC) as PI. In the period 2007-2009, she was a researcher in the project “Employment conditions and labour precariousness in workers under 35 years old in Spain” (PI: Esteban Sánchez Moreno), funded by the Ministry of Education and Science and carried out by the School of Social Work of the Complutense University of Madrid.
Her interests focus on the sociology of culture and communication, inequality, Spanish sociology and sociological theory, subjects on which he has written several publications. She is currently researching social networks, film and society and collaborative collective action.
