
Mora González Canosa

Mora González Canosa holds a PhD in Social Sciences and a BA in Sociology from the National University of La Plata (UNLP, Argentina), where she is Associate Professor of Classical Social Theory in the Department of Sociology of the Faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences, as well as teaching seminars on social theory and research methodology in various postgraduate courses. She is an Adjunct Researcher at the Consejo de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET) based at the Instituto de Investigaciones en Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales. There, she directed the project “Repression in Berisso and Ensenada, 1973-1983. Una aproximación a partir archivos oficiales, testimonios judiciales e historia oral” and currently co-directs “La causa militante: perspectivas analíticas para el estudio del pasado reciente argentino” and “Los años de la nueva izquierda. The years of the new left. The rise and fall of the mobilisation cycle”. She is also working on the international project “History of the present time, memory and emotions in Latin America and Spain” (CNRS/Université Paris 8, 2022-2026). Previously, she took part in the project “Sharing Society. The impact of collaborative collective action” (University of the Basque Country, 2016-2021).
She focuses on the socio-historical and socio-political analysis of the recent past in Argentina and the South American cone, researching processes of social protest and political radicalisation, social movements and collective action, as well as the relations between memory, history and politics in recent decades, subjects on which he has published books, chapters and articles in specialised journals.
Among her latest works is the book Los futuros del pasado. Marxismo, peronismo y revolución: una historia de las FAR (Prometeo, 2021), the compilations La nueva izquierda en la historia reciente: debates conceptuales y análisis de experiencias (Prohistoria, 2021) and La política científica en disputa (CLACSO, 2019); chapters in books such as La sociedad colaborativa. Los impactos sociales de la acción colectiva colaborativa en la sociedad contemporánea (CIS, 2022) and A 100 años de Reforma Universitaria (CONEAU, 2022), and articles in journals such as Rúbrica Contemporánea (Spain), Nuevo Mundo-Mundos Nuevos (France), Tempo e Argumento (Brazil), Izquierdas, Tiempo Histórico (Chile), Sociohistórica, Conflicto Social, Polhis, Cuestiones de Sociología (Argentina).
In 2022, she received the Award for Scientific and Technological Work granted by the UNLP.
