Paula Abreu

Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Coimbra, she is Associate Professor at the Faculdade de Economia da Universidade de Coimbra (FEUC) and the co-coordinator of the PhD programme Discursos: Cultura, História e Sociedade (a partnership between CES/FEUC/FLUC).

Her research has focused on the fields of cultural production, consumption and practices, on processes of valuation in the domains of culture, and on cultural organisations, ecosystems and policies.

She is a researcher at the Centro de Estudos Sociais da Universidade de Coimbra (CES-UC) in the line on Urban Cultures, Sociabilities and Participation. She is currently part of the research teams of the projects UNCHARTED – Understanding, Capturing and Fostering the Societal Value of Culture (2020-2024), funded by the EU and led by the University of Barcelona (https://uncharted-culture.eu/); and IN SITU – Place-based innovation of cultural and creative industries in non-urban areas (2022-2026), also funded by the EU and led by the CES-UC (https://insituculture.eu/).
