Elsa Santamaría López
Open University of Catalonia (UOC)
PhD in Sociology from the University of the Basque Country/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (UPV/EHU). She is currently an associate lecturer in the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) where she teaches subjects focused on work and organisations in various undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Her doctoral thesis in the field of sociology of work and youth studies received the first “Basque Social Reality Award” in 2010 and was published under the title: Trayectorias laborales en los márgenes del empleo: políticas, subjetividades y experiencias de jóvenes en la precariedad laboral (Labour trajectories on the margins of employment: policies, subjectivities and experiences of young people in precarious employment). Her research career has been linked to the Centre for Studies on Collective Identity of the UPV/EHU and the Research Group: Work, Gender and Society of the UOC.
Her main research topics are in the fields of work transformations, job insecurity, employment policies, youth, gender, configuration of subjectivities and processes of inequality.
