I graduated as a Telecommunications Engineer from the Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya in 1995. During my first professional phase, I worked as a systems technician in Osakidetza (Basque Health Service) and later I carried out technological research (Tekniker and Vicomtech).

I dedicated the following years of my life to public service, holding representative positions in the Basque Parliament and management positions in the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa (development of the rural environment and management of the natural environment) and in the Basque Government (transport and public works, with responsibility for the execution of railway and port works, logistics and meteorology).

After a period as general secretary of Confebask, during which I became passionate about vocational training, I decided to devote a few years to academic and research activity in this field.

Thus, I took the Erasmus Mundus Master in Lifelong Learning: policy and management, at UCL in London, and I developed my doctoral thesis in sociology at the UPV, focusing on lifelong learning processes in the first years of employment, receiving my doctorate in 2018. During this period, I participated in international conferences and congresses, with several publications in specialised journals.

I have taught at the Deusto Business School (New Business Models in Digital Environments) and the UPV (Sociology of Organisations and Business). I am currently a director of the Tubacex Group and chair of its Sustainability Committee, and Executive Director of the EKI Foundation (which works to facilitate access to clean energy for communities in sub-Saharan Africa). Furthermore, I am a member of the governing council of Unesco-Etxea and I collaborate with different business and equality forums. I am curious, and I am truly interested in people and the diversity of ways of understanding and living day-to-day and beyond daily life.
